How To Make the Most of your Morning
It's so important to start the day off right, whatever happens in a couple of hours after you wake up can determine how you'll feel throughout the day. Once you're in a good mood at the start of the day, your positivity will extend to others and perhaps get them in a better mood too. So it's important to start the day feeling great and ready to conquer everything you need to do. If you won't do it for yourself do it for the people around you.
To get me in the right frame of mind, I like focusing on positive things. In the morning, it's all about comfort and relaxation. I try to get up at least an hour before I need to leave for work, just so I can make sure I do everything I need to, in order to have a smooth day. Now I know there might be things that get in the way of you having a good morning or even a good day, that's life, but it's still important to try to refocus yourself. It's can be really tough to do, but trust me it really helps you to dwell on the positives and move forward in life. I dare all of you to try these tomorrow and even this weekend. You'll feel so much better and accomplished!

1. Get enough sleep
It's tough but having a good nights rest is essential to a productive morning. I know when I don't get at least 6 hours of sleep, I end up feeling groggy and tired all day. The recommended amount of sleep is 8 hours but I strive for at least 7. When your body is able to relax and rejuvenate itself, you wake up with more energy to conquer the day. You also are much more likely to focus on your work throughout the day.
2. Eat a healthy and satisfying breakfast
If you're anything like me, breakfast (and food in general) has the power to make or break your mood. That's why it's important to get a good meal before you start your day. I love having grapefruit, Greek yogurt with honey and egg whites for breakfast. It's satisfying and gives me the energy for the day. Make sure you have a balanced healthy breakfast, not only will it be satisfying but it'll also help you to make healthier choices throughout the day.
3. Workout or do some stretching
Getting your body revved up and awake for the day helps you stay focused and motivated all day long. Exercise is proven to release endorphins in your body, which puts you in a better mood. So why not release some endorphins in the morning before you go to work? It doesn't have to be anything long or strenuous. Just do a couple of squats, push-ups or yoga stretches. You will feel like you accomplished something and will have an extra pep in your step all day long!
I love starting the day in a positive mood. I'll either read my bible or a book I'm currently into while sipping on tea or coffee. I'll also get my heart in the right place by doing devotions or I'll stimulate my brain by reading one of my favorite books. It's great just to feed your mind something positive as soon as you wake up.
5. Listen to music
There's just something about listening to great music or your favorite songs that really gets you in a great frame of mind. I love playing music as I get dressed for work in the morning. It gets me in a happy mood and takes my mind off of all the work ahead. Try to stick to songs with positive, uplifting messages and beats. You'll be surprised how effective this can be to your mood.
