"I don't really need to focus on my personal style because I have a job that I don't have to dress up for."
"No one cares or thinks of me differently just becasue I don't care about what I wear."
"Personal style isn't important and what you wear doesn't really matter."
These comments frustrate me because they aren't true at all. Personal style is so much more than just clothes or having enough energy to wear something other than sweats all day. A lot of people just assume that because personal style involves clothing and shopping that it's a material luxury that doesn't really need to be indulged in. Well, I beg to differ. I'm not one to indulge in material things either but I've realized the important role that our personal style plays not just in our regular day-to-day lives, but our future as well.
